The Cricket Association of Bengal on Monday observed the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee at the Club House premises of the Eden Gardens.
CAB Office Bearers led by President Sourav Ganguly along with CAB Vice President Nitish Ranjan Dutta, CAB Treasurer Sanjay Das, former CAB office bearers, Apex Council Members, Chairpersons of various CAB committees, former international cricketers, other CAB officials and members paid their tribute to the eminent scholar, leader and statesman.
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame on July 8, 2026, celebrating his 54th birthday with this prestigious recognition. [1, 2]
He is the 12th Indian cricketer overall and the 10th Indian men's cricketer to receive this ultimate honor. Ganguly expressed his deep gratitude to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and its chairman, Jay Shah, calling it an incredible privilege to be immortalised among the game's all-time legends.
